WH Klaus Peters was the first businessman who met in my life. Far from being a world entrepreneur of the arts, with whom I lived, Klaus was strangely a genuine artist in my design. A cultivator and preserver realtors of beauty. In 1991 he founded the first of the resorts that Brazil met: The Fort Resort Hotel Beach.
When Brazil was still gaping with Club Mediterranee, a "work" architectural, culinary and social snob for snobs, Klaus worried in putting together what is the gift of great artists: BEAUTY and REFINEMENT!
For beauty, Klaus was concerned to preserve every centimeter of natural forest of the seafront of St. John Mata County, about 60 km north of Salvador. The river and the dark brown waters of mangrove that flow into the sea still there, part of the resort. The Garcia D'Ávila Castle built in 1551 by Diogo Alvares Correa (The Caramuru, who ran away from school) has been restored and preserved becoming later on Garcia D'Ávila Foundation through the direct intervention of Klaus who was founder and president by years to come. The small village of fishermen has been preserved in its deliciously simple constructions while Klaus was alive. Flamboyants and bougainvillea almost impossible to describe colors (there realtors is some "thing" in the sun that region .... it's realtors the only explanation I have) are mixed with feet of jujube, realtors ombúes, mastic, siriguelas and many other trees typical of the region, not to mention the so famous coconut realtors (which is not of Brazilian origin as thought before I met Klaus. He was the one who taught me that the coconut was brought the first Portuguese ships that arrived here). Klaus, too, was the pioneer in bringing the center of the Tamar Project for the Praia do Forte.
By refinement, Klaus understood to be refined was just simplicity of local things. It was to bring the "climate" of the fishermen village into the resort. It is impossible to try to be "fashion" there. Shorts, shirt and slippers are almost uniform guests just as the coast of cloth twisted pair is uniform in the head of the auxiliary restaurant.
And here and there one can still see a refinement blaze spread throughout the resort and would go unnoticed to eyes less observers. The two-meter mirror adorned with a masterful frame of shells in all shades of pink and white pearl given by a famous craftsman realtors to Bahia Angelica, wife of Klaus and a dignified beauty Concha Buika. Statues of 3 to 4 meters made by "Mad" of fallen tree trunks representing various deities. The lamp lit in the center of the dining table along with a small arrangement of "Portuguese income." The cloth to clean the tables soaked in Citronella (when not even know what it was citronella) to ward off the "midges". Monkeys jumping on the table of eyes with breakfast "pidões". John mud out of her house to see the guests go, because that is their resort. End !!!! You still see the old assistants who stayed at the resort, even after the death of Klaus and sale of resort for the Portuguese hotel company Tivoli, talk to you, "Hey, my beautiful .... will not eat a tapioca with curd cheese realtors today ??? ". We know that for 15 years I spent Christmas with my family realtors who gathered at that point. Part "rising" of São Paulo .... the other party "down" from Canada. realtors I saw my age and grow .... Carolina, Gabriela, realtors Kyle, Tony, Carlos, John, Mary, Fatima and myself between Bel, Marilda, Cipriana, Rodriguez, Selma, Ana, Aprígio among such beauty and refinement.
And it was in that spirit that plunged in Praia do Forte waters thinking about all this and much more, seeing the green calm sea and the sun. A couple of meters away from where he was a head the size of a human head rose from the sea gave a small jet of water and plunged again. I tried to leave the water as quickly as possible. I know the sea enough to keep me away from what I do not recognize immediately. With the wave crashing on my knees I looked the sea and there it was: A leatherback turtle, critically endangered, with approximately 1.70 meters in diameter that raised its head once again letting out a long jet of seawater . I want to believe that it was Klaus Peters said, "Hello, Jose ..... Go eat another tapioca today?"
When the man knows its place and does not invade nature, it always returns in this its wonder ... I think your friend Klaus Peters also walked the sides of Oceania and left his sensitivity there ... And you ate or not the tapioca ? Of course it was him, greeting, happy, old friend! Zé bjs Reply Delete
In fact he walked by Oceania, yes, and it was from there that he brought this fine concept for the resort! Soon after the inauguration some people less perceptive said the space was a piece of Bali in Bah
