Housing Market Watch: Get Ready for 2014
The year 2013 has actually been a GOOD year in The Triangle. Overall, dream town home sales are up, days on market continues to decline, and contracts for new listings continue to improve. Just look at our most recent Triangle Market Minute Report for Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill and surrounding communities.
As we approach 2014, the need for more home sellers will certainly remain the case in our market as it will nationally as well. Some leading industry analysts are predicting a challenging first quarter as active inventory is low across the board and as new (and tighter) mortgage regulations take affect come January 2014. Even Lawrence Yun, Chief Economist of the National Association of REALTORS had this to say about the market going forward dream town in 2014 -
Nationally, homes are selling at the rate of 14,027 PER DAY . In our Triangle housing market, our Agents are busier than they’ve been since the U.S. economic downturn just a couple of years ago.
